About

We design with the seasons, sourcing flowers primarily from Connecticut farms and using sustainable practices every step of the way—no foam, no plastic, secondhand vessels, and all compostable waste returned to the soil. It’s a simple, low-impact approach to floral design that reflects how we work and what we value.

Specializing in wild, whimsical, and interesting arrangements for everyday, occasions, weddings, and events. Serving Connecticut's Northwest Hills, Farmington Valley, and beyond.

Design, done responsibly

At Goldbud Studio, I approach floral design with equal attention to beauty and environmental responsibility. All arrangements are crafted using seasonal flowers sourced primarily from local Connecticut growers, allowing me to support nearby farms, ensure a minimal carbon footprint, and work in rhythm with what’s naturally available.

My studio commits to avoiding floral foam and single-use plastics in every design. Arrangement containers are sourced secondhand, and all compostable waste is returned to the soil. These choices reduce environmental impact, and ensure that my practice aligns with my personal values: quality, sustainability, and thoughtfulness.

It's possible to create something beautiful responsibly and with purpose. That's botanical design the way nature intends.

My creative philosophy

At Goldbud Studio, botanical design is a creative practice, not a formula. I specialize in arrangements that are loose, natural, and expressive, leaning into the same asymmetry, texture, and movement you'd find in natural overgrowth, unmanicured gardens, or wildflower patches. Each piece is uniquely designed, reflecting the season and the individuality of both the client and the grower's product.

I aim for personality over perfection, working with the flowers and your vision to create something that feels thoughtful, not overworked.

Meet the maker

Owner and designer holding a large purple, pink and yellow wrapped bouquet

Goldbud Studio is a one-person floral design studio based in Connecticut, specializing in seasonal, garden-style arrangements with a focus on sustainability.

After years of arranging flowers as a hobby, I started the studio following an eight-year career in the tech industry. I was laid off shortly after having a baby, and rather than return to corporate life, I decided to turn a long-time creative outlet into something more intentional.

I now run Goldbud Studio full-time, prioritizing local growers, designing for weddings and events, and keeping things small, thoughtful, and grounded in the seasons.
